About me

Hi! I’m Jade;

recovering romantic, chronic over-sharer, and future bestselling author (just putting it out into the universe, LOUDLY… ahem).

Welcome to my digital home.

Make yourself comfy. Help yourself to a drink. Just mind the metaphorical debris of my twenties on your way in and try not to knock over that teetering pile of unresolved issues from my thirties by the door.

Like most things in my life, this website didn’t exactly follow a plan. It began in 2016 as a manic attempt to document my equally frantic search for meaning (read: husband) while gallivanting across the globe, zigzagging wildly from east to west on badly planned flights, with 30kg of emotional baggage, two laptops, and an inexplicable number of shoes in tow.

Since then, it’s shapeshifted into a dumping ground for feelings, a lockdown diary, a therapy substitute — and now, a kind of backstage area for my latest foray into the literary world; the Pretty Messy Memoir series.

Excitingly, and somewhat terrifyingly, the early chapters of that story — once freely available here — are heading into print VERY SOON! So I’ve taken the decision to archive most early posts to avoid spoilers and accidental emotional whiplash. I know, I’m sorry! You’ll thank me later. Probably. Hopefully.

But fear not, my story is still unfolding in all its gloriously unedited splendour. The sequel to my disasters is currently filming on location in my everyday life, and let’s just say production is… delayed, over-budget, and defiantly off-script.

So please stick around if you like a bit of mess with your meaning. There’s plenty more chaos, occasional clarity, and oversharing to come.

P.S Everything I write is 100% true, even when it sounds stranger than fiction. Only some of the names have been changed to protect the “innocent” (& sometimes the shamelessly guilty who frankly don’t deserve my literary witness protection program but my lawyer insists).
